PYSL's Hurricane Travel Program

ABOUT TRAVEL SOCCER
As the competition for school soccer teams increases, the need to develop better and stronger players arises. Often some players and athletes show a talent towards the game, but need more of a challenge to continue to develop. PYSL Travel soccer offers the advanced player an environment to compete with other high level players, and gives players the opportunity to work with more experienced and/or professional coaches. Travel soccer is competitive and selection to the team is made through pre-season tryouts. The emphasis of PYSL’s Hurricane Travel Program is to develop the technical and tactical skills of players above what a traditional recreation program is capable of offering. For some players, those goals may only be to make their middle school or high school teams, while others may want to play for a college program. PYSL strives to provide an opportunity for all levels of need and competition.

COMPETITION
PYSL’s Hurricane Travel teams play in the Virginia Premier Soccer League (VPSL), and compete against other teams from various clubs in Roanoke, Charlottesville, New River Valley, Danville, among other places. Travel Fees & Due Dates

· Smith River Sports Complex fees for practice and game use
· Referee Fees
· Virginia Premier Soccer League team and player fees
· Virginia Youth Soccer Association player fees
· Piedmont Shootout tournament (Fall only)
One Tournament per Season
· PYSL overhead for Director of Coaching

*Fee does not cover:
· Uniform
· State Cup fees if a team chooses to participate
· Coach’s travel fees (gas and hotel for tournaments)
